3 Quick Fixes That Make a Big Impact on User Experience

- Level Up Your Site
When people land on your website, they make a judgment in seconds…
… and sometimes the smallest things can cause them to leave before they even read your headline.
The good news? You don’t always need a full redesign to improve how your site feels to users. There are simple, quick fixes that can make a huge difference in how people experience (and trust!) your site.
Here are three I use all the time with clients – and they’re easier than you think.
✅ 1. Make Your Call-to-Action (CTA) Obvious
That “Contact” button, newsletter signup, or main call-to-action? It shouldn’t hide in the menu or blend into the background.
A good CTA should:
- Be clearly visible without scrolling
- Use action language (“Let’s Chat” > “Submit”)
- Stand out with color and spacing
- Not compete with 10 other buttons on the page
✅ 2. Fix Spacing & Visual Clutter
A site that feels “off” to users is often suffering from too much stuff. Too many fonts, tight spacing, or crowded content areas make it harder for people to read and feel confident navigating.
Quick things that help:
- Add white space between sections
- Limit yourself to 1–2 fonts
- Use clear headings and short paragraphs
- Avoid having everything the same size and weight
A little breathing room goes a long way – it makes your site feel more modern, polished, and easier to skim.
✅ 3. Check Your Mobile Layout (Seriously)
Mobile visitors usually make up more than half your traffic – and yet so many sites still look off on a phone.
Text overlaps. Buttons are tiny. Menus are confusing. 🙃
Quick fixes that help:
- Increase padding around buttons so they’re tap-friendly
- Adjust font sizes so everything’s readable without zooming
- Test forms, menus, and sliders on your own phone – not just a simulator
- Make sure your most important info is near the top
💡 FYI: I offer a Mobile Optimization Service if you want help making sure your mobile visitors are actually sticking around.
Final Thoughts
User experience doesn’t have to be complicated – sometimes it’s just a few simple tweaks that make people feel comfortable and confident while they browse.
